What is Imago therapy?
Imago Relationship Therapy is a therapeutic approach aimed at helping couples create deeper connections and resolve conflicts. Developed by Harville Hendrix and Helen LaKelly Hunt, Imago focuses on understanding the unconscious dynamics that influence our choice of partner and our behavior in relationships.
At its core, Imago suggests that we are drawn to partners who reflect both the positive and negative traits of our caregivers. Through dialogue exercises, couples learn to communicate effectively, listen empathetically, and validate each other’s experiences.
Key techniques in Imago therapy include the “Intentional Dialogue” where partners take turns speaking and mirroring each other’s words to foster understanding and empathy. Another key aspect is the concept of “re-parenting,” where partners learn to provide each other with the love and support they may have missed in childhood.
By uncovering the underlying patterns in their relationship dynamics, couples can heal past wounds, deepen their connection, and build a more conscious and fulfilling partnership.
How to use the Imago hologram
Below are a few protocols you can use in order to improve a relationship, ranging from the simplest to the more advanced:
The simplest protocol:
- Touch the Imago hologram:
- Concentrate on a relationship you desire to improve.
The simplest protocol used with 7 chakras:
- Think about the relationship you want to improve;
- Touch the Imago hologram and send the hologram’s vibrations to your first chakra, thinking also about:

- your childhood;
- your father (or father figure);
- your mother (or mother figure);
- your fears;
- your traumas.
- Then you do the same for your second chakra, etc. up to your seventh chakra.

- Touch the Imago hologram and send the hologram’s vibrations to your first chakra, thinking also about:
